Free Internet in Public Libraries

By Poppy Marriott

Over the past year the Christchuch City Libraries have changed the way they approach the computer and internet.

Now members of the library can log on for a maximum of thirty minutes doing anything from watching videos on YouTube to holding books on your library account. Many people find this a positive change for the library and embrace the free internet and although the libraries have been a lot busier after the release of the free internet, many people are still sceptical about the free internet thinking, that after a while the cost of repairs and upgrades will fall back on taxpayers. But overall the free internet for the libraries is an optimistic adjustment to all of the libraries.
